nice! time to move them is now, depending on your female its around 6 weeks before she ready to spawn again, they will eat the fry at at this time. just set up a grow tank for my jag fry. fun stuff!

new grow tank as the kids busted my old one, just setup tonight.

vid of the female and her clutch taken yesterday, click to play.

Thanks, here is something i am wondering, will the fry survive being syphoned out into a bucket and then put them into their new tank or just net them?

i always netted but can be siphoned also, they tuff fish, either way good.

Day off of work tomorrow, going to move the fry into the tank I have my gar in, move the gar back to the 120,and give the 120 a good gravel vac, can actually run my fx5 at full flow againand turn my circulation pump back on. this is going to be interesting. Maybe get some video footage, as aggressive as the parents have been good chance of me being bit once or twice.

Wear a rain coat and have fun....
I moved mine (there were not many when I did)by siphoning water and them into a large laundry bin then netting from that..to me it was easier than trying to net elusive fry while managing around aggressive parents...if you got a good suction you can maneuver and trap them and you can get a few at a time till you get them all... lowering the water level also helps in catching them....I take the water out of the bin after getting the fry out of there with the hose to sink hook up...so you do the water change you want to do anyway... how ever you do it will be looking for the video....
