Tons of great cichlid options, I would probably do a haitensis or a trimac. Fahaka Puffer would be awesome but 125 is a little small in the long run.
I haven't kept haitensis, but every cichlid I have ever owned, be they African mbuna, SA dwarfs, or large centrals, has gone crazy for nightcrawlers. I don't think you will find a fish that won't eat worms.
Oscars are very bass like in attitude, a nice wild caught or bumblebee oscar might fit the bill?
Not kept black nasty butAndy woods cichlids uk has a few awesome specimens.
Maybe ask rapps, pretty sure he was the guy collecting bb oscars!-)
