125 Gallon solo aggressive fish ideas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Its rare for black nasty to get 14+ jags get much bigger. Grammodes get around 12" and are very aggressive...... beani are cool as well ive only ever seen on in a aquarium at 14+"

Tons of great cichlid options, I would probably do a haitensis or a trimac. Fahaka Puffer would be awesome but 125 is a little small in the long run.

My first choice would be a haitensis but did they eat live foods? I know pellets are staple but if I fed it a nightcrawler, would it eat it? I like seeing my aggressive fish attack their food

I haven't kept haitensis, but every cichlid I have ever owned, be they African mbuna, SA dwarfs, or large centrals, has gone crazy for nightcrawlers. I don't think you will find a fish that won't eat worms.

I've kept dovii, jags, and RD's so you see where I'm getting at as far as killers and aggression.

Where does haitiensis stand and I wonder if a pair would work in a 125? And I would have to get them both as babies correct?

Oscars are very bass like in attitude, a nice wild caught or bumblebee oscar might fit the bill?

Not kept black nasty but Andy woods cichlids uk Andy woods cichlids uk has a few awesome specimens.

Yeah I like the bumblebee Oscars but can't find them and yeah Andy's black nasty pair is what caught my attention and made me want them.

Maybe ask rapps, pretty sure he was the guy collecting bb oscars!-)
