125 gallon tank ideas

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I kept 4 10-11” astronotus crassipinnis with a couple 3-4” L600s for months no problem. It’s always a risk but mine never cared for them, not to say they all won’t eat em, just ime with 2 separate groups of crassipinnis they’ve never gone after any small plecos I’ve kept with them
+1

Thoughts on a green phantom pleco instead? Do they eat algae to not like im going to rely on a plec for that it would just be cool to have something to help me out.

Sorry to rekindle an old thread but im picking up a new filter from someone else thats been already full of beneficial bacteria which is nice. They also want me to take their firemouth and featherfin catfish I don't want them to go to a crappy home from the lfs so I wouldn't mind saving them. Does anyone see an issue with adding small cichlids in with a 4 inch firemouth thats my main concern about it! Any thoughts are appreciated so new stocking would be those 2 with an oscar electric blue acara and electric blue jack dempsey.

I think it’s fine, try it and just have a plan to rehome a fish if it doesn’t work.

Fair enough. I'm just going to roll with the featherfin since she wants to just give me him and they cost like 30 bucks around here for an adult like hers! Good to know for future ideas though!

Featherfins can be mean to other bottom dwellers, make sure everyone has enough hiding space.

Thats fair he should be the only true bottom dweller I have except for other cichlids. I'm sure they will learn to stay out of his way haha.
