Small ornamental shrimp are touch and go with dwarf puffers, if they dont realize they can be eaten you are good to go...

But once they take that first bite, then you could potentially lose then all sadly... Since that happened to me with some Cherry Reds... Took i think 2 weeks and after one got curious, the rest soon followed suit...

Are Otos still okay?

I want to add a black background and proper LED lighting. Do you have anything to recommend or inprove in regards to my scape or lighting?

Black background sounds good, before jumping in on the LEDs, I'd have a think about what plants you want to grow; it's very easy to overdo it on lighting, if anything it's better to do low lighting, and have that as the limiting factor rather than co2 and ferts.

Scape looks cool, I see you're using Anubias; I quite like the smaller leave varieties, as it suits smaller tanks, big leaves tend to ruin immersion. Also I like the rocks, I'd maybe consider adding a couple more from the right, down to the centre of the tank; if you're interested, search for the golden ratio

Those white rocks are from my garden so there will likely be more.

The reason i said LED is since i can't get a bulb in and the clip on light is clipped to another container due to a wierd lid design. I want to focus my scaping efforts on this tank since the big one is gonna be a while till i go and get more wood and plants somewhere when i have the funding.

The anubias i might move down since it is almost breaching the water

Here's another 12x8x8 scape I'm working on, manzanita and some red rock; on black. Kinda volcanic theme, I'm going to put in some black bumblebee shrimp I think; though depends on their visibility. Next to existing 12x8x8 for comparison.

Currently battling diatoms on the left hand tank arrgh

Why is the glass so thick on the second tank?

They both look good. I wish I could scape that well.

-Last question and I'll stop taking over the thread with Dwarf Puffer questions-

Would a fluval edge 12 gal work for the Puffers? I hope to keep everything stock on the tank, because the lighting upgrades for that tank cost as much as the tank itself. Finding a new filter would also be hard since it would have to fit the compartment.
