Well, the second two both say they resist mildew and fungus, so I'd think that they're not safe. I'm not sure about the first one. You could buy a gallon, build a mini-tank, coat it, and then put some fish in it for a few weeks or months. If they don't die, maybe its safe?

ah see I knew the mollies had another use other than feeders lol. I'll take a look and see how it goes with the sump then, since that will be a quicker easier build and wont have glass to worry about.

well damn, the 135g had a pressure based leak, the last time it was resealed there was way too much silicone used, the joint was 3/8" thick. At any rate so long as that is an issue I wasn't going to be able to reseal it successfully. So I went to take it apart and f course cracked a side panel.

soo. I'm going to use that to repair the 125g and then use the 1/2" glass from the 135g to do the plytank. this gives me a bigeer viewing area on the plytank and the glass has a higher safety factor.

wow, I give you lots of gredit. I just finished resealing an old 29g. What a PITA. You're ambitious and much more patient than me! GL

Way to take a crappy accident and make something positive out of it!

got the 135g totally apart and cut the plywood and put it into place for the 450g Also checked to see if it was big enough, yup fits my daughter. lol

noting's assembled yet just eyeing it to see how it will fit together and how I need to brace it.

I think I'll go with 3 braces horizontally with verticals spaced between them ever 2 ft or so. This will give me adequate strength while minimizing lumber.

front viewing window measure 72.5" (odd variance there) x 24" x.5"
side viwing window measures 24" x 17.25" x .5"(yay for manufacturers measinuring the outside of the tank to determine gallonage)

top glass for the lighting (bottom + one of the sides) measures 70.875" x 16.875" x .5" and 24" x 17.25" x.5"

The rest of the top will be made of plywood like the rest of the tank. I'll have a front hinged section that measures 16" wide to allow for tank access.

did some work today, the tank is mostly together, just need to finish bracing the back and do the front for the viewing window.

the side window is in though so it's nice to see progress.

liquid nails plus deck screws, the screws are too long for the application but as you see in the shots my angle grinder makes short work of them. I could go and get shorter ones sure, but then I wouldn't get to use my angle grinder lol. Plus I have tons of deck screws.

should rename this the 135g build out lol, front glass panel is in (sorry no pics will post some tomorrow) just some bracing work to do and then making the top and I'm set for the sealant.

tank is coming together slowly, have been reserved to 45min incraments when I'm home due to being sick.
