There's one a little bigger in Rhode Island for a 100 bucks. Much more realistic.
 
I don't think OP needs to be educated on the value arowfan. From what he's stated I'm pretty sure he's aware of the value (if he wasn't I'm sure he is now that quite a few people have shed light on the value earlier in this thread) and the issue appears to be that he can't get past his Dad's thoughts on the value.

I posted that ^ as a point that OP can bring to his Dad. Surely he didn't purchase this guy for more than 100$ at a lfs, so he can let his Dad know that and ask him what makes him think it's inflated 500-600$ in the short time he's just kept it in a 55g tank.
 
I think he was just hoping to get lucky. I think this is the same guy that tried selling 4 inch red devils for 60 bucks. Don't turn this in to a flaming thread but OP you should do some research to avoid people flaming you.
