I was treating every 24 hours.

Every 8 hours...Is it possible to overdose? Is it more effective to dose orally with a syringe?

I used Metro+ which isn't quite pure. Do you know if that stuff has a high enough concentration of metronidazole?

if not eating a bath is fine not sure about metro your using might be fine i get metro from jehmco and use at 400mg per 10 gal every 8 hr with water change for 3 days if every 8 hrs 5 days if only 1 or 2 aday

Based on Lupin's suggestion, my research and my previous experience with Metro I'm going to try Praziquantel.

I will begin dosing after a couple days with pure water and if there is still no improvements.

Don't put the carbon in and get the meds out after only 24 hrs. Read up on ich life cycle, it's still in there and you need to read the directions on the bottle and dose like you're supposed to.

The packaging said to treat every 24 hours if symptoms don't improve. Based on the fact that ick is possibly still in my tank I will continue to treat. All white spots were gone from my flowerhorn (only 4 to begin with), and hopefully they were killed during the free swimming stage.

By the way this sucks. I can't wait till he gets through all of this so I can start concentrating on growing him out again. If he lives he'll be a stunner (to me anyway).

Oh I'm with you dude. Ick is a nasty little bugger and I will keep treating to ensure that it is completely eradicated from my tank. Per your suggestion I researched the ick lifecycle and I now know that there is far too many times when chemicals won't have any effect to trust just one treatment.
