Inside dimensions 72"x24"22". Retired the 330gallon. Its going into storage. Moved and the 330 would take up 1/3 of this room and wouldnt fit through the hall or doorway hahaha.

Im gonna add maybe 2 more braces on top, then finish the tier with fiberglass resin. I pretested the silicone to vinyl before I started this. I cut out a section and made a 90degree corner and applied clear silicone and let it sit inside for a day. The silicone ripped itself in half and never budged from the vinyl so the bond is real strong. If in 2 days no leaks I have no fears. By far the easiest plywood tank ever.

Oh ya to bond the vinyl to the plywood I just smeared the silicone on the back and pressed it onto the plywood, I had to brace the back peice since it was so large and heavy.

hmmm thats not a bad idea, hopefully the vinyl doesn't leech anythign into the water.

might i ask where you bought the rolls from. and i was lookign for a cheap alternative to sealing an aquarium besides liquid rubber or epoxy. i guess with a fiberglass undercoating this idea would stand up to anything

Excuse my ignorance, but what's the advantage of using vinyl flooring as a liner?
a different alternative to epoxy/pond liner/ liquid rubbers etc.

I cant give you a price everything from the wood/glass/ liner was all free. The only money I spend was for 5 tubes of silicone. It was a 6x9 roll. On home depots website the cheapest is just under $4 a sq yard

On a side note, no leaks yet, but I picked a bad day to test fill. Cold water plus 88 degree night and humid is giving me condensation GALORE on the window which is making the dang wood wet. I put a towel where the bottom of the window meets the wood and I am HOPING the the water absorbed by the wood does not cause a seal to pop. I have no idea how dampness, wood and silicone react. Guess Ill find out tmw morning and when I come home from work..

Oh as for leeching, when I opened the roll the smell was enourmous, after a fews days sitting in the garage all open its pretty much all gassed out. Everyones afraid of the leeching so I think Ill throw a bag of charcoal in for a month just for safe keeping.

Not a bad idea..I dont think vinyl leaches anything, but I'm sure it will degrade at some point-just dont know when. How thick is the vinyl?
