Well the quick answer would to be to put the pool cover back on for a week or 2.
Only thing the dying algae could spike the ammonia and kill fish.
A shade cover over the entire pool area to reduce total sun would help. More plants as others have suggested.
Can DIY a filter. There is a bunch of different methods. I'm using a combination of "moving bed bio/swirl filter" and aquaponics for my 7000l system. (Flood and drain gravel beds with veggies)
Filter cost me about $300 AU to build, and another $350 for a decent low power usage 6000lph pump.
That ran fine for quite a while before I added 80 natives and the aquaponics setup with another pump. Appropriately selected fish will avoid heating/cooling systems.[/QUOTE
Well the pool cover is broken rite now lol. Any pics of the diy filter? Mite use it as additional stuff. Mite do the canopy idea but that will be a pain

Get some water hyacinths. They are cheap, fast growing, and suck out tons of nutrients. Other plants would be hornwort and parrots feather. They all grow pretty fast and can outcompete algae.
for the hornwort wud i just float it? Hyancinths float rite? Wud some hardy lilies be good too? Is a 4ft Shallow end too deep for em though how about cattails mite put some in a corner where theres a step 2 ft below water level.
Thanks
