I added a female sajica and 2 t.passionis in Dec but haven't managed to get any good pic's of them. The female Nanoluetus died last month. I don't know what happened. Her body and fins weren't torn up at all and she was acting fine the day before.

I was going to say you were in desperate need of a pair of Sajica in that tank. looks like you are half way there. they are awesome little fish !!! i recently got a small pair that i am growing out in my 55

last week I made a video focusing on the larger of the 2 ebjd's. He's a tough sucker, he's claimed the best spot in the tank, right up front where the food falls. I noticed he's constantly beating on the cutteri males that are twice his size. Just by chance I caught them in a lip lock (1:20). It's the only time I've ever seen them do that. The ebjd being this aggressive is new in the last week.

The last 2min is the view of the tank I usually have - lengh wise. The tank sits behind my desk so when I turn around I get the long shot. This is a preview of my dream tank 6ft deep front to back, add another 20ft long and 4ft high and I'm there.

The smaller EBJD at the bottom of the tank died this weekend, he's been struggling for the last 2 weeks ever since I had a 9-10hr power outage. I've got a male rainbow lined up for the female.

Last night I grabbed some video of the convicts defending their fry. I haven't watch it yet so hopefully it turned out good. The cat and mouse of the attacking fish to get to the fry was amazing. I'll post that one if it worked, the lighting where they were wasn't very good.

Your tank is absolutely stunning. I'm using this tank as an inspiration for my 150 which is a work in progress. How are the fish with the plants? Do they leave them alone, or do you have to replace them pretty frequently? I love that you focused on some of the smaller CA's instead of the larger ones. IMO, the smaller guys are not appreciated as much as they should be :)

My gosh the aquascaping is amazing!

And the stocklist is perfect!

Beautifull tank, best of luck with it.

Thanks! the plants are hurt more by me then the fish. I haven't had to replace any, I doubt the large sword will last long term, it came from a high tech planted tank to my low light no tech tank. I agree about the smaller cichlids being under rated and over looked. I was guility of it too until I had convicts and cutteri breeding for feeders in the same tank. After watching them for a while I saw their magic.

You may luck out with the sword... I had good luck with some in one of my low tech tanks. What lighting do you have over your tank? I have been wanting to upgrade the lighting on my 150, but I'm not sure what intensity I should be looking for with such a large tank.

I had a similar experience with the smaller cichlids. I got into them kind of unintentionally as well. I had a female convict that was a rescue in one of my tanks a while back until she paired with my blue acara. The aggression of the pair was stressing out the other tank mates, so I re-homed her since she was the "more common" fish out of the pair. Big mistake, lol. I have not stopped thinking about that little fish since I gave her up, so I was stoked when I got a group of marble cons and some cutteri in my order from Ken.

THe lighting is two 70w metal halides with 8k bulbs. I have a DIY thread on hereThe swords I have in other tanks are doing well but are much smaller. This one is already showing signs of stress on the out leaves, the ones in the center are still looking good. Also the sand isn't deep enough for the plant. I'm hoping it survives, the fish love and so do I.

About 2 weeks ago I got 5 blue HRP's that are growing out in a 20g and putting on size fast. I think the largest of the bunch will be big enough to join this tank in 4-6 weeks. All the others are half his size.

I added the hrp's a few days ago. Finially grabbed a few pic's. These buggers are hard to get. They usually live in the sword plant but were out grazing on the stump.
