Hello.

I have somewhat recently purchased a used, standard, glass 180 gallon from the Indy boys, Pharoah and Mike. Thanks once again for the great tank for a stupidly low price that is in great condition.

This thread is going to be used to chronicle the set up of the tank and then just used to post fish pictures in whenever I actually get water in the damn thing.

I am currently in the process of moving 900+ miles to Seminole, FlL (one week from today I am driving down there), so I am in the process of getting things done that I have to do here while I got tools (and my dad) around. Once I get to Florida, it will take some time before I get everything set up, water in, and fish in the tank as I am doing this on a tight budget, so bear with me :D.

Thanks and hope you enjoy.

Now here is the tank.

It is a standard 180, so 6x2x2. It is black trimmed and is drilled on the left panel. I still have no idea what exactly I am doing with the holes (I may just cap it off, I do not know yet) but they are there.

This is the tank after some TLC. It was pretty dirty, but a little vinegar, a hose, and some scrubbing and it was as good as new. I forgot to take pictures before I cleaned it, but I have some pictures of the lids that I haven't cleaned yet and they are as dirty as the tank as.

This is the biggest tank I have owned. I started with a 50 gallon when I was in middle school. then I graduated to a 75 when I was in undergrad. So, I have progressively gotten bigger thanks. This will be the biggest one for me for awhile, probably until I actually own a house and such. I can keep many of the fish I have wanted to keep in this tank so I am just grateful to have it. To most people it is a monstrosity... for MFK it is just "ok" size wise haha.

My shoe is on top of the tank for reference. Size 12.

Here is a picture of the glass tops that came with the tank.

I actually didn't know I was getting 3 of these with the tank, which was an awesome surprise and made the deal even better.

They need handles and backs to them, but that is not a priority so it hasn't been done yet. Actually, the glass tops in general aren't a priority so they haven't even been cleaned yet. But, just like the tank, a little vinegar and some muscle and it will be as good as new.

As dirty as they are is how dirty the tank was before I cleaned it just so you know.

One of the things I needed to get done before I left was getting the stand built.

I found a few designs on MFK, sent them to my dad and we got the skeleton down last weekend. I think we are finishing it this weekend.

It stands 2.5 feet off the ground. 4x4 notched corners and the rest is 2x4's. I think he may have added a couple more supporting pieces later but this is the gist of it.

Dumb question but... how much did that stand cost to make (material wise?)

I'll let you know when I finish it today. The skeleton cost less than $30.
