Good Luck with your move and your hobby. Looking good so far. Try and keep us updated.

Thanks and I will definitely keep it updated. Nothing is worse than a cliff hanger thread.

nice tank! it appears that your tank is an Aqueon (aka Allglass) brand tank. you can tell from the braces visible in the first pic. each company's braces look different, and you can tell Aqueon apart from Perfecto (Marineland) just by looking. Oceanic's use a glass brace.

great start!

Thanks. I have no idea what type it is haha.

On another note... why was this thread moved? It is just like 12volts thread and his is in the picture forum. After teh initial posts this is all going to be fish pictures...

Oh well

dont worry about were the thread is.. you have a great start and one long haul to make with that tank and stand. good luck and more pics..

probably because the photo lounge is not big enough for another thread like mine LOL

its massive. and ever growing. never ending..lol

Couple pictures of the canopy unpainted or whatever.

I had him make it so the whole top will lift up. This is so I don't have to take the dang thing off to do a water change or get something out of the tank. This allows easy access to all three glass top lids. Saw it at a pet store and thought "cool"

Still need to add a front door so I don't have to lift the whole thing up to feed and do simple stuff and it still needs trimmed out.

It is about a foot tall.

how much did u pay for the material to build the stand? cuz i just bought a 180 as well and the stand is in crap condition and im thinking ill build a new one

Looks good so far. Tanks is definitely a lot cleaner than it was before.

Also, I'm about 99% sure this is a Perfecto. Steve got all of his tanks for a local distributor.

the trim indicates that is definitely an Allglass/Aqueon branded tank.

the trim visible in the bottom of the tank has the characteristic two ridges that Aqueon trim has, the perfecto's do not. also, the top trim has the sloped part (where the cross braces connects with the outside trim) which Perfecto tanks do not.

here are comparison pics from my Aqueon tank to this tank just to verify.

the trims (actually the braces) from the two companies look quite different but you have to be around both styles of tanks for a while to get to know them. when I was at the LFS, well, I got to know them pretty well. lol.

what really gets screwy is when a local tank maker buys the one peice frames from either Perfecto or Aqueon. our local builder here does that, then its hard to tell haha
