180 Gallon Start-Up Thread

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The canopy has been finished structurally.

The molding has been added to the top and the trim has been added to the corners. The doors have also been added. Well, door. Only the middle door opens up, the other "doors" are just for uniformity and looks. This door is for everyday things, ie feeding. The big "lid" is for water changes, moving things in the tank, ect.

I haven't seen it in person (dad emailed) and it needs painted but I am VERY happy with it from what I have seen.

Well, I pack up everything into the uhaul tomorrow and leave for Florida Saturday. So, probably wont' be too many updates as I won't have time or won't have the internet. The internet should be put in Tuesday.

Best of luck. 180 is an awesome tank size. (I have one too.)

Move seems successful... just a little paint scraped off here and there. I went to take pictures tonight but it was too dark in the room (realized I need a lamp in there lol).

I will get pictures of everything together tomorrow. I should get a second coat of paint in the morning waiting on the cable guy to show up.

A couple of quick pictures I took last night. I didn't really much light but I took what I could before I started painting.

The whole thing stands nearly 6 feet off the ground. I will try to get better pictures today after get don painting it again. Gonna take 1-2 more coats.

I just bought a 90 gallon tank that is covered with salt sediment. I got it clean, but there is still a haze on the glass. How did you get rid of that?
