1800 gallon build and my new 180

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm going to try to put some hardie backer board on today. I have to acid etch it 1st and I've never done that before. Also I told my wife we would go to the beach. So it looks like im taking a break for a few hours

So I now have about 14 tubes of Dow 732 for the acrylic windows and 10 tubes of 3m 5200 for the cement board also I got the primer for the Dow silicone as well. I'm going to acid etch the hardie board this weekend ( I ran out of time this past wknd ) and next week ill be ordering the pond armor. Right now I'm just working on reinforcing the plywood with Fiberglass resin and matt

actually once I get this tank completed I am planning on asking some people on MFK if they know of a reputable place to buy from . I know there are a few places in south fl

Ok. I need help. Every problem I've had so far with this build has been the freakin stock tanks. I was going to connect two of them together using a 2 inch PVC pipe with uniseals. Well I can't get the two inch pipes into the uniseals if my life depended on it. So. In trying to do so I have damaged one of the stock tanks to where I don't think I can fix it. That puts me back to one stock tank but I still can't fit the pipe through the uniseal. With that being said I don't want to use a bulkhead bc that's another pain in the ass. So. Here's what I'm considering. Cut my losses. I hate the stock tanks anyway and build my own sump using plywood and epoxy. I'm already running behind on this thing as it is but I want to do it right. If I build my own sump I can make it the exact dimensions I want and expand the biological section as well. Any thoughts or ideas ????
