Hey guys,

Moving to a new appartment, and i dont trust the floor enough to fully fill my 180, so I want to fill it half to 2/3 with brackish.

Plan is obviously to go Toxotes Jaculatrix!

While i need to figure out the decor and disposition, i have a few questions:

I heard about Monos bullying tankmates would that be a problem with toxes?
I always wanted a gymnothorax tile, and they don't last long in fw. Would they work with toxes and possibly monos/scats?
Can I keep crabs with toxes without risking missing fins or worse?
What plants do you recommend? I want a 100% natural, no artificial background or water leveled fake ground or whatever.
I don't believe I can keep mudskippers with toxes?
How many toxes in that volume?

Obviously don't have to answer all the questions, brackish just doesn't seem as documented as fw, so I didn't find much infos that verified itself elsewhere.

Thanks! :)

Personally would do the a group of Archer fish and the Moray possibly 2 or more. Crabs and Mudskippers would need specialized setup especially the Mudskippers.

Thanks for the answer! :)
Define "a group"?
Dimensions are 200x70x60 (would not be 60 since I won't fill it full).

Sounds understocked, not that I mind, but I figured the pattern allowed for more. :O
I guess it depends on the decor, whether I take up space for my plants, yes?

Additional questions!
Are there plants that root into water, and grow over water in brackish? Much like mangrove, but those being trees isn't faring well with my plans unless you can use them like bonzais, cutting branches to remain small. :o

What other plants work in brackish?

I'll have about 30cm of water over sand, will that actually outgrow that height?
I'll take anything I can find, it just seems so small hehe

I was pondering something like that, I just want it to look natural, so it's going to take some work and dedication, but most importantly: ideas.

I was starting to lean towards slender driftwood branches coming out of the water, but I really want plants, not just goddamn wood looking like a dead tank. xD

It's so hard finding brackish tolerant plants, even on the lower end of the spectrum, but I guess my requirements are set pretty high. :P
