Matt will take care of you, I have no doubt.
Yes he will, he called about an hour after I made the post and was very concerned. He's already working on sending me another BG. He's a great guy! I know from you and Justin that DBN is a great company...and their customer service is awesome..The BG is amazing and I cant wait to get the new one.
I am more excited now that I've seen it in person, to get this tank set up. :headbang2

Sounds like this is going to be a great build. Looking forward to seeing how things progress.

This may be obvious, but the best way to achieve this effect with LEDs would be to group them into small clusters with narrow optics, rather than spreading them evenly around the tank. This will be easier to accomplish with a custom LED setup than with the Marineland fixtures. Depending on how you plan to drive them, I think 3-4 groups of Cree XR-Es mounted on ~5"X5" heatsinks (~6 LEDs/heatsink, with 40 degree optics) would work great on that tank .

Thanks for the suggestion(not obvious to me, this is my first custom tank), that may actually work out better for what I have in mind..I'm up to something...but i'm not telling :naughty:

I'm sorry to hear that your background arrived damaged, but glad to hear DBN is sending another one to you. I can't wait to see the background when it's installed!

Matt is a stand up dude and I'm sure he'll set you staright in no time. That's why I am always raving about those guys.. Good peoples.

It's actually a blessing yours broke. Now you have a practice one you can get confident working with. ;) Matt sent me some scrap pieces to mess around with too and it was a life saver when it came to installing the actualy ones.

Hey Justin!

Yea he's seems like a great guy. He was very nice and I could tell he felt bad about the BG, I kinda felt bad for him...I told him I knew it wasn't his fault..the box itself was crushed so I know UPS totally screwed things up.

I will definitely purchase from DBN again. :grinno:

That's cool of you Tomeiko. Good karma girlie ;) I'm the same way when something goes wrong, stuff happens and no one meant to do you wrong. Most people out there will do right by you if your not rude to them. Tell Dennis hi for me!

EDIT: Totally random Idea but maybe you can put the damaged BG on the bottom of the tank under a layer of sand? Your big catfish will move sand allot and leave areas exposed on the bottom. At least it would look more natural than exposed flat glass?

Thanks Justin, It really wasn't hard to see that DBN had nothing to do with the damage, right is right and I wasn't going to lay into Matt when it wasn't his fault. And he really is a great guy! I thank you, Joe and Clockwork for recommending DBN. :D

I will definitely tell Dennis you said hi, he really appreciates all of your well wishes, and between you and me, this BG has really sealed the deal for him on loving this tank.

One of his co-workers came over last night while I was taking pics of the BG to send to Matt, I couldn't get a word in at all, Dennis was describing the tank to his friend and how the BG was for the tank, telling me to show him pics of the Tig...he even tried to get the guy to feed my eel.

I admit I teased him a little, he says he's just happy that I'm so happy, but I know the real deal ;)
