You should be reading nitrates, if not then your tank is not cycling correctly and you will hit problems.Wow. That’s a lot of water to change 2-3 times a week but maybe I need to step it up. By good to go I meant nitrates and nitrites reading 0, ph right at 6.8, and ammonia reading zero. However, I just took a reading right before typing this and it looks like my ammonia has risen to .25 ppm which is a concern. There’s some left over food that was hiding behind the pump before. Maybe that’s the culprit. I’m not sure. What do you advise?
And yeah I need more bio media. I’d like to eventually do a setup using k1 but for now I’ll just get some more lava rock or maybe those pot scrubber things
Add more media and preferably seeded media from an old tank.
