Didn't see the avatar but he's probably just joking.. he gets a bit outlandish at times though.

As for the tank question if you're going to be staying where you're at for a while DIY a tank like 500g or so. If not then order the biggest tank you can and use cinder blocks for a stand. It will be a pain but a way to maximize how much tank you get for your money.

Why would anyone want a square tank anywhere under 1k gallons? It don't make sense. In any situation you're always better with more length than width if you have room.

Go to your local LFS and make freinds. 2000 bucks will go a long way.

I WOULD SPEND THE WHOLE 2 GRAND at glasscages get the biggest best aquarium u could with 2 g's and i guess u got to count on at least several hundred for shipping but hell 1500 u could get a huge 1.Just getting posesion of the tank is the best thing u can do then start saving agin and do a diy stand then a diy wet dry sump and 1 more month of savings and u will be ready to stock it thats how i would do it.
