Can it be done as long as there are other fish and lots of plants and a cave?

anythings possible but i think that it would be Real hard to not have them fight... i bet if u put 2 males in a 180 G tank somehow they would find each other and fight to the death... i had a male and female and they fought... but you could get the "perfect fish" Good luck man

I'm getting 2 for free this weekend. I think they come with their own betta tanks, but I'm not sure. If so I'll just put one in the 55 and leave the other in his tank.

Give it a whirl in the 55 with both of em... see how it goes.. then if you have to seperate em, do it.

should be a good show regardless...

We had 2 bettas in a heavy planted 100gal square tank. Almost like a pond...

They would see eachother, but always end up going their own way.

Would I try it? Never. Male bettas aren't meant to be kept together regardless of how big your tank is and how much plants your tank has. Whatever works for others may never be the same in your case. They can behave differently hence it is risky to even try that.
