i got the same customers,^^but for the staff they should know which it is from an ammonia test or just tasting it. so i blame the "staff" for not knowing that one
 
we had a lady come and get some clown fish and said it was marine so i ask ther the usal questions wot size tank/wot fish/how old is the tank / the ancerd and seamed like she new wot she was on about
she leaves with the fish 30mis later she runs in with 2 dead fish and said thay where bulliy her gold fish and it atacked them
so i burst out laffing and she takes it the rong way and storms up to the manger (my brother) tells him the story and ill i hear is him laffing in the offace and she storms out
 
My story is completly opposite from you. Ok I hear 2 people talking about a Rhom pirahna of something like that, then the guy all of a sudden says " I bet my goldfish could kill that" I was laughing my ass off.

i've got a good one...i was in petco one day and this guy walk in with his son and asks "I have a 2 gallon bowl withmy sons goldfish in it" employee:"well what are you looking for?" Father:"uhh how about this one" he pointed at a 4" lion fish, the employee goes"uhhh sir thats Salt water" man:"so?" employee" your goldfish is freshwater" and by this point im on the floor in the other side of the room laughing and the man looks at me and says with a really serious look on his face "WHAT?" i walk away and when he leaves i see him with about 6 snails. thats the best one i've seen yet
 
i was at a petco, and a lady asked asked the employee about the red-bellied pacu
"hey are those those evil fish?"
"which ones"
"you know, the ones that eat people. p something"
"i'm not sure...
"oh right, piranha, are those piranhas?"
"yeah, sure they are"

so she bought 3

it's okay to be a newbie and not know. doesn't mean one is stupid. what's bad though is when the worker at petsmart or worse a LFS has no clue. years ago i heard a guy at a LFS tell someone dwarf gouramis, some tetras, and a jack dempsey would get along just fine - that's dumb. a guy near me now will sell baby red tail cats to any kid with a 10g tank - that's just greedy. as for the piranahs, these kids watch youtube vids of people laughing while a group of them tears up a mouse and think that'd be just real cool to watch - that's being a sick bastard.
