I've tried quite a few (maybe 6 or 7) of them, I had a guanabana drink from a Michoacana last week
My wife and I came across a really unusual fruit while scuba diving in Mexico (okay, AFTER scuba diving...). The boat driver was a friend's son and pointed out a purple fruit hanging from some cactus on the cliffside. These were actually rock islands a few hundred yards offshore, with no source of freshwater other than rainfall. Nobody knew for sure what they were called, but it sure was delicious!
Any botanists out there that can give a positive ID? It was growing from the ropy-looking cactus in the upper right side of the photo. The islands are "los Arcos" in Banderas Bay in the state of Jalisco.
