A word of warning about regani (or any Maskaheros, one of my favorite genera)
I had a pair of regani in a 6 ft tank, until the male killed the female.

So I gave him to a friend with a 250 gal, that already had a 14¨ managuense and a 12¨red devil.
the regani killed them both in 24 hours

I saw your tank arrived, did you make a decision what’s going in the box?
I'm set for a single jag with Nicaraguans, maybe a vieja species down the line, "maybe".

But I do have my 7-8 inch male parachromis multifaciatus I can build around him. I ended up rehoming the female. If I was to build my male, I wouldn't know what to place with him.

The problem with starting with your male is you'd have to find something bigger that he wouldn't destroy immediately. And your multifaciatus would have to go in last.

Yea I thought about that too. I have small group of cons also and ended up grabbing a few small jags at 2 inches temp being held in a 75 gallon until the tank is done also a 2 inch bourcorti.
In sights of a few jags, looking to pick a nice male from the group
