jimsroom1-1.jpg

heres some other things you may have missed or maybe just did not understand going on in this glimps into jims world

top center - those are brackets that hold shelves made of old skateboards
the white "blotches" on the walls - are really screaming skull demon whatevers done with off white paint.. they are all over his room.. pretty impressive once you realize they are not rat urin stains leaking out of the attic/walls
bottom left - 3 things going on here.. one is the trashcan which has been painted to look as if it was overflowing blood.. also the dustbuster serves as a holster for a pellet gun which is used to keep cats/whatever out of the pond in the backyard... jim is using a plate to hold his sammach... ive never even seen him use a fork/spoon (for anything other that feeding fish) and yet there you have it... food on a plate... my guess is that someone left it there
top left - that white thing.. its a fan blade.. its connected to a pull chain for the celing fan.. the fixture has 2 functions.. its both a light and a fan.. the light has a normal pull chain.. but the fan... now that is cool.. its just a fanblade hanging there.. but when the fan is on it also spins... pretty darn cool IMO
bottom right - jims gimp cane.. its covered in stickers none of which can be posted here.. its rather entertaining... ive never seen jim use it but at the same time ive never done a whole lot of walking with him either.. i wish i had a cane.. ive needed one for years and at one point i did own one.. however it was rather "new" looking and i just dont have the face for it.. i do however have the limp... someday :(
the mirror - the flames you see.. are part of jims bedframe... its HUGE.. he has a king sized bed.. the frame itself sits about 2 feet off the floor.. pretty impressive.. its also painted red and black.. the headboard is also covered in flames.. the flames are not just painted.. but hand carved out of wood.. very badass...
on top of the bed post - there is a wax skull.. the one in the pic has an alarmclock on top of it.. there is one on each bedpost..

just... ya know... throwin that out there... we will get some more pics of the tank and more storytime this weekend..

So I was not the only one that noticed the glass "Tobacco Water Pipe"

Hey whats everybody doing in my room? ha! Thanks for the compliments on the tank score and the TOBACCO bong- the only problem is that all of you Sherlock Holmes' only noticed one! I do have two hands! I cant believe it slipped Chesters mind too- it probably didnt really slip his mind, he probably consciously blocked it out, even though I did make it myself- it is pretty creepy. Its a hookah styled one in front of Waldo(but hes completely hidden)!
So anyway before I got rid of the 50 the last residents in there was my leichardti whom I had to separate from my black, because the leis aggression and size was growing faster than the blacks was. Then one day out of nowhere the lei was belly up- I was crushed and contemplated leaving the hobby- especially considering the water was perfect and the other residents were fine- I do 2 almost 50% WCs every week so Im pretty picky about water quality. But instead of quitting I decided to get a trio of baby silvers from Rich at Infinite Aquatics- its always great to see him except that we always seem to hang out so long that I start worrying about my new fish and how much of their own urine their drinking. I figured I would grow these guys a bit in the 50 and then put them outside in my mostly tropical pond in a few months. The next day is when Chester found the 220 ad- so now I had to babyproof the pond due to my little jumpers, while also trying to rid the pond of my eleventeen bazillion hellspawn convicts while at the same time breaking down the 50 to give to this guy. I also didnt want him having second thoughts about our deal so I freshened, scoured, and painted all the things that run and support a tank. The deal with the tank went smoothly like I said earlier- but for the next 3 days, I lost one silver a day- I still dont know where they had been getting out. Ive had arowanas since I was like 12 and I have never had a total of 4 die in those 26 years- now I just lost 4 in a week! But I had the 220 and some hope. So for the next day or two we contemplated how to stack and plumb the two big tanks while the 220 sat filled with water to check for leaks. The stacking idea was scrapped because Id need more than the 6 or so inches that I was going to get between the tanks unless the sump went next to the tanks, but then whats the point of stacking. So the stand was started and was a completed skeleton in no time- me and chester have built alot of stands and canopies for MFK members so it was smooth to that point- but I was wanting to take this one to the next level- all of our stands are better and stronger than the fish stores offer but I wanted to try and make this one better and stronger than the furniture stores offer- Ill get into that next time- But for now heres a couple of more pictures- a young lei, the baby silvers one night indoors, pond silver, stand skeleton, and skeleton stand

omg dude. thats pretty sick... i wish something like that happen to me...

well then again.. i was the guy who answered the call on the free 150 gallon leaked tank... course i repaired it and all and its doing super great.. hahahaha..

but ya... a 220 gallon is an awesome tank, and for just a 50g...

this round of "story time with unki jim" died pretty quick... and im a prick so im sure as heck not going to fill you kids in on all the fun details... but i will tell you this... theres pics in his gallery...
the stand is looking pretty good.. its being reskinned for like the third time... and i finally finnished plumbing it lastnight.. at some point i think we are going to have to add some more because i want my spare canister and ac110 back... but jim needs them more than i do..... for now....

Ok so the stand was a skeleton, the tank was not leaking and everyones favorite arowana and datnoid master John (JL) was giving away a 24" monster jardini to one of his friends... well Im his friend! I was second on the list- now Im sure all of you would probably be trying to get your 220 finished up in case you got the call saying that you could come get the jar- not me, I wanted to try another design of trim on the stand, and that doesnt mean the normal go to HD and buy another. Nope, I for some reason am compelled to make things like the trim myself, and on top of that, sometimes I dont really know what I doing until Im done- and then Im good at it for the next time. So there I was making sawdust and John calls to tell me the fish is mine if I wanted it! Hell yeah I want it! Chester came over with his 4' cooler and we were on our way to Johns. John was doing a water change in one of his big tanks- Id tell you about his collection but if you read the buy/sell youd know that he has been selling them all off. I could have hung out with John all day but chester was there and john kept looking at me like cant your friend wait in the car and normally I would have put him in the car but I needed him to lug that cooler with me. So John gets the jar without 1 single drop on the floor, himself, the front of the tank, nowhere! I had to say it out loud that I was impressed. Obvously John is aces in my book and I reluctantly left. When we got back to my house was when it hit me that the 220 was out back, the stand in the garage was only a frame again, and there was a full olympic weight set with a complete powerlifting cage where the tank was going. If there is anyone besides chester left following this thread Ill tell you how we pulled it off next time
