todays progress : finished painting the background and got it attached it to the tank , finished painting the light fixture and hung it over the tank , and ........started to "fill it up" .... about 1/3 full now .....this is about as fun as watching paint dry ....lol

Yah, but you don't have to worry about the walls leaking and flooding your floor with paint...

I'll get to test fill my 220g acrylic tank soon (hopefully this weekend... my fish need more room!).

well , only got it half full last night , had to leave for a while . sat all night with no leaks ........

not much progress till today . had a minor disaster last night , the bulkhead fitting on my overflow had a leak . i found out just how tight not to tighten a bulkhead ...lol
so i looked locally and found some really "beefy" bulkheads but that meant i had to enlarge the hole in the overflow . so with that done started on the rest of the sump plumbing . it is all plumbed and waiting for glue dry so i can re-test everything .

IMO self leveling concrete would be easiest. it would also raise the height of the tank

today : the filtration system has been running for 24hrs with no leaks in any of the plumbing(i would sooner take a beating than do plumbing) i also added my driftwood . and all i have to do before i add my fish is to wait for the water to clear up , as my well water is really high in minerals ( i use a faucet installed just for my tanks that doesnt run through the water softner )

i also finished the removeable background that i made from 1/2 inch rigid foam board (this was to allow access for cleaning) and for insulation

as soon as the water clears i will post more pics .....
