These pics are directly from the link I posted in response to Stan. If I had to choose a collection point that my fish look the most like, it would actually be the second image, Quebrade de Barracon. That fish looks identical to my group. The cheek spangling is what seperates it from Jim's fish, as his have many small dots vs the lesser appearance of the larger smeared smudges of the other.

Thinking back, when I picked mine up I wish I would have taken a picture of the largest specimen they had. It was a large male that was around 8". I imagine he was the original father of all the others. I would have grabbed him but he didn't look to be in the best shape and was blind in one eye.

I like the 2nd too.

Wonder where mine originated from. Mine have red, but more on the fins.

Great pic of that male pearsei. Such a great fish and nice job on the tank

Thanks, how big is your guy? I feel like all my fish grow slow, even my pearsei. My pair is close to 5 years old and my male is probably close to 13" but not nearly as chunky as many I see.

I cant say for sure somewhere at 13ish inches. He put on size fast but once he hit 10ish inches it slowed down.

I dont know i kind of feel the same way thinking he would be bigger by now but i remember reading somewhere that it takes a few yrs for them to mature so maybe it takes a bit longer for them to reach full size ? Who knows.

Yours is amazing i wouldnt worry soo much about the size it looks healthy and the main thing is they will be with us for many yrs to come.

I forgot to add i like that our males dont have huge humps. I like the steeper profile foreheads

Yeah, it's interesting to see how individual fish of the same species develop differently. I do believe the humps and overall body mass comes with age though.
