2300 gallon fish room work in progress.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Nice set up! I love all those sumps. Do you cut the glass yourself? I've been saving old glass so I can start making baffles for sumps. I just never cut my own glass. I have to give it a shot someday.

Yes and no some have been cut by me most have been cut by my local glass installer he does it for 50c a cut if I go in early and has a sander to smoothen them just in case.

had quite a fair bit of a fun building those sumps too lol.

sadly my dream warrior flowerhorn just passed, really upset :( she was like a flowerhorn but with a pure white body used to let me pat her! all the other fish seem fine which is bugging me....

Thanks guys, Heheh the black belt is sweet, I have a female with him who was a bit skinny but shes finally came back and hoping they may pair up but to be honest I doubt it, the male is weak lol the blood parrot bashes him up, my blood parrot also bashes my dovii and fene, I have to record this haha he cant swim straight also sometimes even upside down so its pretty funny, his happy and eats etc even tried to breed with a few different viejas lol.

I will try to take a few pictures tomorrow, not much has changed yet... getting a 8.5 x 3 x 2.5ish and a 2 tier stand for 2 soon, the tank needs to be moved and the stand has to be welded still but hopefully wont be too long! then I am hoping to get a 10x2.5x2.5 or 2x 5fts + 2x6fts or something unsure exactly but I know I I want to try to get bigger tanks on that side of the wall. My issue is no matter how big or how many tanks I seem to add into the picture its never enough for my plans lol.

8x4x3 should also be fixed soon, hopefully I will have 2-3 500g+ running in the next month or 2. I decided I want my main room to just have big mixed tanks rather then lots of 4x2s etc so my plan is to put all the 4x2s where the filter room was suppose to be (I kind of just left them outside and put mdf leaning against the glass haha) its going to be a lot of work but and doubt I will be starting it this year, last year of high school and the homework is just ridiculous but it has to be done. My idea of a filter room also includes a 16-20ft x 5-6ft tank hence why I doubt I can afford it this year haha I dont even know if anyone here can build something like that they started making fiberglass tanks though so maybe I will go down that road, I think its safe to say its a bit more of a dream right now first the 10fts or something =)

Anyways I will have some pictures tomorrow, anything specif? lol

Attempting to repair the 8x4x3 again today!! this time we are using some special silicone and adding braces.

hopefully it wont pop again ahahah, I am a bit worried as I have a nice floor now it is water proof but I think 2500L + of water can cause some damage no matter what it hits.

my biggest worry is the glass is now on an angle so imo it has to be clamped back into place after the silicone but my tank builder thinks we should be fine filling it with silicone.

anyways lets pray all goes well and my rtcs home is complete =) or another cichlid tank oh oh this is going to be fun, all goes well I will have this bad boy running and 2 x 8.5 x 3 x 2.5 also running within the next 2 months.

I made a cad drawing of my fishroom to scale and started building the rest of the surrounding area to show my extension plan and pond area, all goes well I will upload this along with the pictures tonight. Its very nice having it all in the pc now as when I want to try different layouts all I need to do is move them in the program and I know theres much less room for error, nothing sucks more then moving tanks around to find you measured it all wrong.

Well, we didnt finish my tank yesterday had to much work to do! sealed the edge leaking with a high grade silicone then when it dries we will add braces.

I got some pictures of the other tanks we finished off last night, I know you guys like big tanks and well these tanks are pretty big =) moving the glass for them was not fun at all 1inch lol. these big tanks are not for me sadly but I wouldn't mind one.
