2300 gallon fish room work in progress.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I love the room. Awesome job. I'm in the same boat with my wife, I only have 3 tanks and she says I have a fish fetish. You inspired me to take over my dining room now. I hope to have that set up similar to your garage in the near future.

Hey guys, wanted to share more for the frontosa but added my new feature a sliding glass door!! picked it for 250$ everyone was saying it was way to large but a good friend and myself got it in some how :D

anyways picked up this frontosa moba blue zarie f1, normally I am not a fan of africans but this guy is 39cm!!! I got a new 30cm male dovii also who is next to the fronnie seems to have calmed down ever sense seeing the frontosa ! Keen to hear if anyone else has seen them this big? I know the burundi get quite big but never seen a moba so large!

an update on the RTC also just under 40cm :) sadly he/she is not growing as fast anymore, hoping to get a TSN and grow it to the same size also once the room is moved around... again...!

FINALLY......... Have braced the 8x4, the tank builder has tried some braces on the base which worked out great and looks nice we also did the top which is a bit messy looking but I just hope it works.

as the side bracing did not run the whole width of the tank (allowing it to touch the sides) we added 2 8mm sheets on the side that has no leak just to bond it was the idea how well it works is unknown!

for the other side which had the nasty leak we added one 4ft long x 12mm brace but it did not sit flush with the actual brace, 8mm sheets were added under each side again in hope of producing some bond, then we added another 12mm brace under this.

for the center did the same as above with 8mm glass under in order to lift the 20-30cm wide x 12mm center brace (no clue on exact size but its big!)

So next weekend or the weekend after I shall be filling her up and we can find out if any improvements have been made lol I dont see why having a sheet of glass under the brace in order to gain height would effect the overall strength? it was pretty much put out there that if it leaks again I dont have to pay anything for it but he wont try to fix it again. worst comes to worst I can put some bunny rabbits or something in there MFK rabbits :)

p.s last time it held water for 20 hours so if we break that record we are getting somewhere =D

Well... 3 of us moved the 550G and added a board, pretty much have moved the 4x2 out for a 6x2 tier, painted it black. Moved the 550G bow front in the middle and soon we will put the other 6fter tier on the side.

Seems the 8x4 is holding water, my 550g looks so small in it. The plan was to fill it up all the way today but we ran out of time and need to leave the fish over night. Hope this all makes a bit of sense, I am dead.

oh yeah I am repainting the room also, all the stands shall be 1 color with key stands *bigger tanks* having a splash of teal on them then greyish walls.

Looking good mate - been waiting a while to see what the big eight footer would look like filled. Is it just me though or is there a pretty noticeable slant to the water level?

Those big fibreglass tanks are pretty impressive too (well, except that colour). What's the $ cost for those bad boys if you don't mind me asking. I've started looking at going bigger than my current 2-metre tank but it's a pretty expensive proposition - not a lot of tank builders down here in Canberra.

yeah man the tank was off level, thats also why I only filled it half way or less. will be empty in a few hours and re leveled. I think the back leg I added (the circle poles) I pushed the tank up too much as I whacked it with a mallet.

I must say it does look very nice, hopefully it will hold water when full!

Sorry missed the fiberglass Q, those ones are 15k, the glass is almost half of that alone. My tank builder does build tanks all of aus on call outs but I am not sure about the costs, I can pm you his details if your keen.
