Hey guys I just started my 240 gallon discus tank. Planning on having at least 12 discus I have 8 so far. I'll post pics up when I take them I'm posting this off my phone. I also have 10 neon tetras and gonna get 10 more some small feshwater crabs my brother threw in along with some dwarf frogs and other fish. Planning on getting rid of my plecos, anyways anyone have any suggestions on plants and such? And should I get a uv sterilizer for this tank? And does anyone know any local breeders in so cal that sell discus I'm looking for some yellow discus, they have them on somethingphishy.com but I've heard a lot of bad stuff about them so don't want to go there and would rather see discus before I buy. Or if u have sine discus let me know if ur trying to get rid of them or anything. Post pics if ur discus tanks to give me some Ideas thanks guys hope to hear from u soon.

tank is still a work in progress, still have a long way to go, still have more driftwood im trying to sink, then i need plants, and still have to work on the canopy for this and the stand ill post a pic of a similar stand i want to make, it has a sump but he said he had it set up as a regium if thats what its called, he had a 180 tank then a 135 gallon under it and had other fish in there that couldnt be in same tank as the other, at the same time it worked as a biological filter. any ideas thoughts or opinions

Hey thanks guys, that second post I put with the tank on the bottom of the big one isn't mine it's what I'm going for though haha, I went to get a tank off some guy and he showed me his tank and that was it!!! Real nice setup it's a salt water tank it's real nice, my tank is the first one it's the tank and stand only right now but once I get the tank for the bottom I'll start working on it to look like that tank on my second post on this thread. But because of my canister filters I could only put a 4 ft long one and the stand is 42" tall so I could put maybe a 100 gal tank or 110 down there 48x24x30 maybe idk I'll see

Ya I have a few pieces in there big enough for them to hide they prefer two hiding spots on is in the back right corner I have a corner piece it's like a ledge and there's a long piece o driftwood in front of it so they all go in there at night then when the lights come on they come out and swim around all day or the center piece is another place they like to be, but once I come and they see me they all come to the front haha
