id keep the odoe any day over anything except atf. very nice specimen man. i wish i could find one by me. not that i could have it right now with my 3 gatf but id set up a tank just for it. and maybe a nile bichir to keep it company
240litre tank, predator ideas?

ive never had one. only seen them. the ones ive saw seem pretty mild tho. kind of waiting to ambush food.
Had piranhas before, I'm thinking redwolf fish?? Or maby a single channa pleuro but i need to do more research on these species first, I have plenty of time as the tank is cycling

65 gal tank, you could put some red wolf fish in there or maybe a bunch of pea puffers or green spotted puffers. With a tank that small "cool predatory " fish will be VERY limited. You may want to ask yourself if your willing to convert it to brackish when needed, then your options might open up a bit more. (Some puffers need brackish when mature)
Thinking of going cichlids mad?? or a pair of jacks?? Always loved them

the tank isn't even that big. youre talking at the very most 70 gallons. It kinda pisses me off when people post in Litres on here. I lived in England and Europe for over ten years and until recently I moved to Canada but I have ALWAYS used US gallons online. I've been using fish forums now for about 8 years and I always just used converters to change litres into gallons, The effort required is so small and to be honest you are obviously aware that everyone on this site measures in gallons so with your 700 posts you would think that maybe people wouldn't understand?
Like No offense, but 14 year old me realised that nobody on these sites uses litres how hard can it really be? The reason why I say it makes me angry is because people read 240 and they think that you have a giant huge big tank, when in reality your tank is pretty average in respects to size. And dude tell me about it, anything to do with aquariums costs a FORTUNE in England. When I moved to Canada I got my 225 gallon (851 litre) tank for $200 (slightly over 100 pounds) I am still to this day amazed at how much cheaper it is here
also PS, channa pleuro grow too large for a 4 foot tank, they are open water swimmers that like to be in groups and can get up to the 18" mark although smaller is much more common

Didn't really think litres or gallons mattered, it's the same think just a different unit of measurement, like using feet and inches etc, yeah I looked into pleuros and you are correct, can't believe how cheap it is!!! England is so expensive, I could easily spend £1000 on a tank around the same size with a decent filter and stock etc if bought new

Yep I know what you mean I was constantly amazed by how cheap everything is over here. The thing is, a lot of Americans don't ever learn the metric system in school. So to a portion of this site CM and L are complete mystery. If people see 240 they assume you are talking about gallons. It's a good thing that it got cleared up though or you might have gone out and got a stock of monster fish for your tank that all got 2 feet long !
