no, im 20 and my friends have lost thier licenses and I know another kid in a high speed pursuit w/ an acura who went to prison for such, cops had to run him off the road... I am just pointing out its a reality, talk to the kid, he will tell you he has no idea what came over him, he was an honors student and everything else too. know another kid with a 06 stang that one more ticket and his license is gone too, hes only been driving for 6 months.
I have a freakin bonneville and i have been pulled over multiple times w/various made up excuses from the cops, never a ticket, never for speeding... They target teens, they target teens with sports cars alot more, reguardless of what you did or didnt do.
I remember being 16 the only thing I'm not forgetting, is what I have learned from my expierences.

:chillpill: i was joking. I have lost 2 friends to accidents and have been stopped needlessly be cops as well in my '96 honda passport

btw, happy late birthday!!!

240s are becoming the new civics around Orlando. So if you looking to hook up you car, might want to be careful on it. But they are really fun to drive.

240s are strong, reliable cars if you can find an Unabused one, meaning buying it from some old dude using it as a daily.

What year you lookign at?

i've been pulled over by multiple cops because they think i've stolen the car i was driving ( my 64 1/2 mustang ). I'm used to it. My dad tought me how to drive, and he hasnt gotten a ticket his whole life and hes 44. I'm a very careful driver, i've lost to many friends, and dont plan on ending up like one of them.

I cant find the model that went up to 180mph and its bugging the living day lights outa me.

I wouldn't count on getting any stock US 240sx up to 180mph.. lol

Chonk is the man for 240's at least here. I'll let him steer you in the right direction. But vs the 3000gt I would def. pick the 240sx.. weigh in at under 3000lbs, sr20's are getting cheap. I always liked s13 coupes if you're on a budget or 97-98 s14 if you're not.. lol

my budget is going to be around 7 grand. I saw a niceee 1993 supra stocked up for only 9.5 was like

240sx's and 3000gt's are both great car. what do you want to do with the car though, keep it stock or mod it out? 240's are easier to work on by far, but the sheer fun of a 300gt vr4 with the active aero and active exhaust (1990 or 1991-92 only) is a great thing. if you just want a cruiser then get the 240, better on gas and it's pretty fun. if you want to mod the crap out of the car then it's a tossup on what you want. a 240 with a sr20 swap can make some pretty good power with mods, and so can a vr4 with some turbo upgrades. so in the end it's all on you. i'd go with the 240 though because i'm a nissan freak.

I'm looking at 2 types of cars right now

a 240sx

and a 3000gt

cant decide on which one i want more.

can anyone give me some information on the goods and bads of both?

~matt

ah , older jap imports i see. 240sx is a farily good car, RWD, and cheapo, many kids use them for drifting and such, after seeing japenese guys doing the same things in s13's,S14's, and S15's. there high points imo are-

RWD- always good
many with stick tranny's
swapability- engines can be readily swaped for nearly anything JDM under the sun, SR20's, RB anything, JZ's, 7m's you name it.
cheap place to start for young guys getting into buildable cars.

overall for 89-98's, both models, 7.5/10.

now 3000gt's, very good car, but if your looking at them, and also looking at the 240sx's, etc, your most likely going to want a VR4- 4 wheel drive and ALOT of goodies, a bit higher priced, but well worth if you can get a good quality one

high points for them
AWD
Twin turbo
320 horse

powerful and sleek car, imo/e, harder to build and more expensive to build than 240's and so on. easily 9.0/10 for these guys.

downs for both is, there older and most your going to see are going to have major miles on them- in the shop more, alot less money, and if your going to do a swap to make the car seem young agian- get a few more jobs. oh and BTW- insurance companies are not huge fans of teenage boys, driveing cars like this.

now adays i see crapped out MKIV shells, with nothing go for 8+ grand. these damn fast and speed movies make it impossible for regular joes to get these cars for regular prices.
