In orlando I personally dont think your gong to have to much of a problem with theives as you would if you owned a honda, might want to keep an eye on it though, and I wouldnt call them the new civics they have been just as popular along time ago as they are now and thievies dont seem to focous on them as much anymore. Its just more noticed now b/c the drifting scene is bigger. Anywho its a fun car to drive around, I know quite a few people who own them and love them, seems to be a dependable car for them and not to pricey of a car either. That car wouldnt be as hard to work on either and nissians are decent cars. I love 3000gt but from what I gather form a friend who owned one who flat out said to me (when I was looking at them) its a mech's car. Plus mitsu in general are not that reliable compared to alot of other cars, I know people with basic mitsu and have lots of problems. I think the 240 would probably be the smarter choice, just dont go crazy with it. If you plan on drifting/racing do your research first and make sure you know what you are geting into and what you are doing becuase alot of baddddd things can happen if you dont.. (such as rolling into trees, slamming into poll's etc..) I know alot of lucky people who owned 240's and only 2 of them has them, the rest dont anymore b/c its been rolled or slammed into something. Things change when you learn what you can do to and with a car. None the less if you plan on using it just as a fun car to drive and for a daily driver then you'll prob. have fun with it =]
