$2500 FOR THIS? GOOD DEAL OR NOT?

The last new import I saw was 14" for £400 about $600 and older hobbyist specimens were 12" for £175/$260 and 16" for £500/$750. But these were very good value compared to shop bought ones at £1000-1200/$1500-1800.

I wouldn't call it a good deal, but I wouldn't call it overpriced, either. He will eventually get his price for it (whether or not it is from you). If there isn't any competition, he can ask whatever he wants to for it. These things aren't exactly mollies...

These aren't a banned fish. The ban is on Brazilian fish, Panaque cochliodon/suttonorum come from Colombia and Venezuela.
