to OP- i say no more than $1200... so, not a good deal.
 
if i could help saw one for sail maybe slightly larger the price i was quoted was under 1000 us. he ships allkinds of fish i dont no cost of shipping one of these giants. and i thought bristles on faces of adult males only
 
Its not a horrible price, youre getting a lot of comments from people who think theyre tough negotiators but if you want a fish and the only one available is X amount of dollars its really just a matter of how much you want it.

Before you guys say what that pleco is worth it looks like the TS is located in the PI, where importation of any kind of plecos is banned. That means you are not only paying for shipping across the world on a big specimen like that (which probably had a box of its own), but for the high importation fees which the person who imported it probably had to pay to just get it in the country, and the risk of the specimen not making it through the whole export->import ordeal. You can probably get it slightly cheaper, but you will have to import it yourself. You will take the risk of importing the fish and all of the stuff associated with that/getting it confiscated/dying and not eating even if you make it past all of the other risks. You will also have to spend alot of money for alot of other fish because no one will ship you just that one fish. If you're in the market for one I know someone with a 17"-18" specimen for roughly the same price. Send me a pm if you're serious.
