ANOTHER new Polypterus for the grow-out. I just got this Delhezi today along with another Poly that I'm not sure of the ID yet. I believe it's a Lapradei, but it was labeled as a Palmas.
Anyway here is the Delhezi. He is the littlest of all the Polys now so he for sure had to go into the 29g. I estimate about 2.25".

thats a bada$$ idea for a 29 gal all you need to complete it is a mate for your electric

I have been thinking about getting a mate for the EBJD, but I don't know if the one I have now is male or female yet. Most I see for sale are juveniles as well, so sexing them is near impossible.

I love all my Plecos! The Inspector is probably the coolest though with his golden yellow spots. Only averages about 5", but based on what I've read, they're more on the carnivorous side which is always interesting

Nice EBJD, plecos, and bichirs. I just got a EBJD last week for free and hes so peaceful, my friend had him in with tetra and plecos and he was scared of them. & if I stick my hand in the tank he darts and freaks out unless I stick my hand in slowly lol

I find that the EBJD's are a lot more peaceful than the regular/common Jack Dempsey. My LFS stocks them with Tiger Barbs and Mollies. He's not a big fan of live food either. I have put Guppies and Minnows in the tank and he never touches them. They usually die before the EBJD shows any interest. My Delhezi is actually small enough to where the EBJD probably could eat him, but he gives him his space because like yours, mine is quite skiddish and gets scared everytime something touches him or gets too close.

Ya, mine won't eat live either...they're indeed way less aggressive than regular JDs...kinda lame cuz I want to be able to have him in with my severum and green terror but I can't...he'll probably get his fins nipped and cower in the corner of the tank :(

yeah most likely. I had one before this one and he was housed with a few bigger American Cichlids. He lived fine in there for about a month or two, but then one day I found him almost ripped in half on the bottom of the tank. He wasn't too much smaller than them either so size wise he could have stood his ground, but he just wasn't aggressive enough
