Hes in a 75 right now. Im not sure how soon I'll be able to upgrade him.

They are such messy eaters that keeping the driftwood and all the java fern seems to be a pain trying to gravel vac in and around it.. i may simplify the scape a little more

Roughly 1" a month then curbs a little around 10". I'd say you have about a year at the max. They're similar in growth to a male jaguar cichlid, but twice as messy.

You're going to be vacuuming a lot so I would space it so you can get a long tube to it without a fahaka tagging your finger. What I do is use pool filter sand & good flow to try to keep the crap from dusting everything. I have a small powerhead I use to blow the crap out of the nooks & crannies.
