  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I'm trying lesser amounts tonight. Hopefully they will learn to eat... Will remove leftovers in the morning. How long should i do this for? I really don't want them starving to death...

stop the live food. use floating pellets. sure its fun to watch the little guy hunt fish but when its time he grows up and you may want other fish in the same aquarium you will be thankful he eats pellets and dosnt think of the other show fish as food. remember this fish eat birds in the wild.

I have not fed him live fish. The only fish in the tank that eat those big gold fish are my four line cat and eclipse cat. The jardini is 100% on pellet right now. I have to give one of the bass a feeder because he will not eat the pellets yet. And of course i tried starving him but i eventually gave in and let him have one. The one bass that wont eat pellets is the smallest one, so maybe when he grows a little he will start to eat them. Every other fish in my tank is pellet trained.

Hey nice tank my man! Those live plants? Mine looks about the same size and yeah it's colouring up too! When i bought it, there were only three bluish spots behind the gills. I wonder why my jar has hints of blue.. Now the whole body is spotted! But yours stay topside, mine stays mid to bottom and top only when i'm further away and that it's sure i'm further away. ?stress.

Saw the bichir ate one pellet and thrashed another. I put in 9 sinking pellets. Jar however, ate none floating pellets. Put in 8 of those. Progress for the bichir. It's either jar gives up and eat, or me giving in and feeding it live feeds......

Thanks man. The plant are fake but with all the algae they are practically alive. How long has it been since the jar has ate? If you leave the pellets in over night the jar might come up at night and eat them when the light is off.

I started starving them around 4 days ago? Today is the 3rd night. The first night floating pellets were gone and sinking pellets thrashed. No idea who ate the floating pellets. Put in a total of 10 floaters that night. Tonight i'm putting in two. Bichir ate one and a half sinkers this afternoon so tonight i'm putting in two also. So far no sign of tasting. I also added Azoo's arowana vitamin during my last water change as a preventive measure. Water is also blackwatered.

Will vibration and noise from the submersible pump and tank hood stress out my jar? If it were me i would go insane! I'm thinking this is what's making jar so fidgety and scared all the time. I think the pump is too strong for this small tank.

I dont know if the pump is scaring him. My jar hangs around the spray bar, its his favorite spot.
How is yours doing as far as eating?
