well the biggest thing i would keep in there would be convicts really. You need to ditch the pet shop and look online for fish as it will give you more options.

Apistos, Rams, Angels, Convicts, Firemouths, Keyhole, and any other dwarf cichlid. Here is why MFK people don't support 30 gallon aquariums for cichlids. We have seen and heard too many stories where people keep way too many and too large cichlids in small aquariums because they claim they will eventually get bigger tanks. Usually the fish suffer, there is lots of aggression, what quality is horrible, and fish end up dying. You do what you want, we can't stop you or ever know what you do. best of luck to you!
No I was going to get 1 or 2 small cichlid. I already have a FM in my 25 gallon tank with some medium sized schooling fish. Convict are a good choice. i really wanted to breed convicts. Can a pair fit conferrable in a 30 gallon aquarium? Just asking...Thanks!!!!
