30 gallon tank, gimme some advice.

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i dont know what kind of fish you're interested in, but the fish in my signature are all getting along great and look great in my 30g. just another suggestion

by all means im thankful for the advice, its just ive had numerous responses telling me firemouths would work better (in size and aggressiveness), u r the first to tell me otherwise. But thanks.

While cons are generally smaller they are usually much more aggressive, especially when breeding. Colorful cichlids for a small tank would include rams, apistos, or go african with shellies.

Well i think im prolly just gonna go with this set up then:

1. 1 male/1 female Firemouth Cichlids
2. Peacock Eel
3. Rubber lip pleco
4. Sand Substrate
5. A DIY background ( Do it yourself concrete background, dont worry ive researched this a lot and it is completely safe if you do it right, check out www.cichlid-forum.com if anyones interested)
6. Plants
7. Driftwood

And hopefully all will work out best.

Sounds good to me, get it set up and post pics:D

wont be for a while, gotta wait till summer when i move into my own place. Im really just plannin this stuff out so i can do it and get it set up :) . Really gettin bored of my little community fish stuff, I wanna get some fish with personality and firemouths seem like the right choice for me considering im limited to tank size/money.
