well its not even that, its just im at school so i need a fish tank that wont be the biggest hassle to move every now and then for summer breaks and such. i already looked into it and decided a no on the senegal, its too big. Id prefer not to have such a huge tank either. 30 is about right for me and im prolly just gonna do my previous set up i posted.

u think that 2 adult firemouths would get too big for the 30 gallon eventually? thats what worried me, cause they max out at around 6" while the convicts are a lil smaller i believe

I have Fire mouths in back yard "pond" (60 gallon pvc pond) but for few months bought 4 inside to see which was a pair and your right they would be to cramped in the 30 gallon tank.

Than again they seem to get bigger outside and many do keep a pair in 30 gallon no problem .

Ya thats the one thing that worried me. But i presume that the firemouths should setup their own territory and the peacock eel probably will learn to stay out of it. I hope...

Thats a bad combo.
If anything keep the ell by itself or the fire mouth pair by themselves because the fire mouths will set up a territory and the eel will be in a tiny area of the tank living a tightly cramped life.

if you keep just a lone firemouth you most likely will not encounter the same problem as the pair would present

im not sure what problem the pair would present.? i guess i could keep a lone firemouth, were you talkin about breeding and how they are Very aggressive during that?
