That festae pair just looks stunning and that Argentea doesn't look too bad either

Thanks! Yeah the festae have claimed the tank it seems, but they tolerate the argentea. Even with fry parading up and down the tank, they don't mind "Oreo" helping out with the kids. lol

He seems almost like a live in nanny at times......

Hey where did you get those boxes that connects to your return pumps?

Also just curious whats your gph considering head loss? As Im trying to figure out 10x turn over rate would be enough for my future tank build.

I was wondering how the Eheim gravel vac is working out. They say it's "not recommended for fine sand or fine gravel. Your tank looks like it's Pool Filter Sand? HOw the Eheim GravelVac working out with sand bottom? How often do you use it? Pretty much I figure with big Pleco's in the tank? How durable is the vac? How long do batteries last?
Actually, the powerbeads both failed about a year in and I haven't replaced them yet. I was a bit torn about it because I thought I liked what they were doing but some of the fish seem to like the area in the middle not having as much flow. Fish seem happier without them so I bought the large Eheim gravel vac and hit the spots where dirt builds up mid week. Between that and my common pleco constantly on the move it stays pretty clean.

Thanks for the kind words!

How do the standpipes connect? Surely just a press fit would leak with the pressure of a 30 inch high water column. if you just PVC glue them in, they can't be removed. If you put a male threaded adapter on the end of the standpipe, and a female threaded fitting in the hole in the tank, does it leak? Does it have to be done at the factory before they seal the overflow towers in place inside the tank? If I ever had to change the bulkhead fitting on the drain holes, it starts leaking, I'd have to drain the tank, and then remove the overflow tower box thing, then change the fitting, then replace the overflow box?

I might have missed it but how are the aqua controllers working out for you? Think you said you had the neptune ones...what have you all done with them so far? I'm looking into these for my build as well.

Interestingly enough it just failed lol. I've dropped it a few times so can't really blame ehiem for that but up till it broke it worked great. Batteries last a few weeks on 10 tanks.
