The_Deeb, how is the Styro covered with drylok holding up? Is the Styro leaching into the water? Do you notice anything strange with the water parameters?

All water parameters are stable and the drylok is holding up well... except for the fact that my clown loaches are eating the background :irked:

They're unfortunately picking away at the background and there are sections where they've gotten through the drylok and are starting to dig into the underlying styrofoam. I've heard reports of them doing this with cement-coated backgrounds as well and apparently that's even worse because it causes larger areas of the cement covering to chip off.

If you want to try this with loaches I would do multiple thick layers of drylok (I only did 1-2 with a little extra "feathering") and perhaps consider covering it with a layer of epoxy.

any updated pic? how are the plants growing?

this project is so refreshing! really nice to see.

and question: how is the fog/moisture in your viewing window? is it always clean or it's hard to keep it clear and it's hard to see inside the palu?

Amazing build! I must say, although I've never considered doing anything like this, you definitely make me want to. Im sure my wife would quickly put a stop to it though. 4 tanks are enough for her. Have you given any thought to something that might live up top out of the water at all?

I think I'm going to do something like this, but on a larger scale.
