UPDATES, Muni, UPDATES :D

No major updates. I'm still working out the sump box situation and need to cut the lids. Currently just running two 500 gph power heads on sponge filters to get the tank cycled properly and provide some flow.

I also added 2 pacu to the tank to get them growing out which they are doing quickly. They have grown at least a 1/2" in the 2ish weeks they have been in there.

With two pieces of glass over the openings a single 250 watt heater is holding the tank steady in the upper 70's which is perfectly fine for its current inhabitants. Need to get on those lids.

But it is the holidays and I'm finally out of school. Had my last final Thursday and made the deans list again (3.8 or higher gpa). This mostly means i'll have time home finally to start working on the tank again.

Haha alright. Gimme a min.

I wasn't going to put them in yet but i'd been running the filters and a few fish in there for a while and I got the pair of them for 5 bucks so it was hard to pass up.

EDIT: might be a few. Battery was dead. need to charge it up.

Just finished catching up. Glad to see that you are back on track, and that the Insul-x is holding. Mine is going on 6 months running no issues.

Looks great & looking forward to more updates.

Bear.

Hello all. Been sometime since I posted here.

I thought I'd add an update for those of you that read or may be reading this thread and considering the Insul-x paint. IT WORKS GREAT! The tank was filled just before xmas of last year and held water and fish until June when I moved. I did a full inspection when I drained the tank and there were NO signs of leaking, bubbling, peeling. I had a few pretty sensitive fish in that tank and they all did well. So I would consider it a successful test of the insul-x. The only thing I will add as a downside is when I put my glass lids on that pretty much sealed the top of the tank the humidity caused some mold growth on the insulx above the water line. I didn't want to scrub it too hard as I was worried about damaging the waterproofing. I moved the glass lids enough to provide good ventilation at the waters surface and the mold growth stopped. So just a warning.

The tank is currently empty as I moved to a new location and that size of tank isn't an option here. Still a fish junkie at heart and will have another soon but for now no monster tanks.

Appreciate the update. Been following the thread since day one.
I am up to 4 tanks, no monsters yet but on my way.
You have been an inspiration, can't wait until you get the opportunity to set up again.
