300ish Gallon plywood - First attempt

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Only the front side will be viewed. The sides will both be facing areas I won't be in often.

But interesting Idea though

Muni,

Not sure if I am being a Dumba** or if I just missed it in my reread, but did you get any info on the sealer from the mfgr?

Been checking it out and is right now in the too good to be true catagory.

Looking great.

Getting closer, but am going to redo my 55 starting next week as I am moving it....perfect time.

cool. and im just throwing this out there, but if imo (maybe its just my crazy 16yr old mind -not sex related-) i would throw up a picture on that blank side of the tank. Imean if that's the side that's going to viewed constantly, i think it may start looking a little drab if it's just that blank wall looking back at you. And that color would contrast amazingly with some of these: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=172839&page=10 (the ones by maxxximus87) kinda that pop art sort of feel if you're into it. or maybe something slightly more relaxed, but still kinda showy: http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=172839&page=11 (the one by WeeNe858) would look nice IMO. I don't know how proximity wise close they are to you, but you could see if they want to come and recreate their masterpieces directly onto your tank, that'd be cool.

IDK, just a random thought that just popped into my head and i wanted you to know about it.

That's a great idea. Custom artwork by a Monster Keeper. Love it.

Are those full sized cats? Dang it seems a lot bigger now for some reason. Sweet build.

Got no response from the company. So my sump is being used as a test for it. Since I'm able to order the black I wanted for 40 bucks I can afford to test it and hope it works. If it doesn't work I'll use it around the property somewhere.

The build is looking good! Can't wait to see it all trimmed out, did you say you're gonna do the inside black? That should look good with the black trim.

Yes. Inside will be black. With a white sand bottom most likely. Trying to find something that will work with Rays. I planned on black interior from the start. The black trim I decided on later to hide my screw holes and accent the interior color so it had some class instead of being a big black blob.

As for stuck in the Mud. I like mud. Mud is no problem. I got stuck in about 3-4 feet of snow.

Going to attempt to get the sump done today to test the waterproofer on. Haven't gotten to it yet with everything else going on and the delay with the rubber paint anyways.

The white cat is full sized and larger then average actually. She's probably close to 15 pounds or something. The little gray hairball is only half grown and only about 3-4 pounds.

:ROFL::ROFL: We don't get the joys of 4' snow over here, just a few inches on top of the mud...
