I'm gonna give it a solid week to cure. So it'll be next Wednesday before I test fill the sump.
As for my silly little cardboard box. It held water ok. Wasn't perfect because the ends were folded and the paint didn't span the gaps. So water went between the folds and popped the end out. I'm gonna attempt to soak the cardboard off the rubber paint and see what i can do with it.

If you're painting with rubberized paint, you could have just used something like Liquid Nails or Loctite construction adhesive. You'd get far more strength out of it and it's the rubberized paint that's sealing it anyway.

That would definitely work. But then again this was something I had on hand. The shop has a mountain of stuff in it from various old jobs, projects, and sales so I've just been reusing a lot of it. If I could have lived with 16 inch viewing windows I have 10 sheets of 5' x 16" 3/8"s tempered glass downstairs as well.
I filled all the crevices, screw recesses, and such with it. Works great. According to liquid nail's claim it will outlast the project. That's a huge statement to stand behind.
The stuff dries harder then stone. If you glue to 2x4's together with it 9 times outta 10 the wood will split not the nails.
I don't like using it most of the time. But if its on hand or if something keeps coming lose it gets nailed.

i want to build a ply tank but a lil short in money....
