I could easily silicone in a glass center brace and still keep the rimless appearance but make it stronger to prevent bowing.

My plan at the moment though.... just do not fill it all the way.

I am considering building a riparium. Which is about half full of water with plants potted along the backside at water level that grow in the upper half the tank.

But that is another build thread. Got about 10-15 pictures for that one already. But I'm still cleaning the tank. It was in rough shape when I got it.


My other news I mentioned was my L-007 "Vampire" pleco I got. He's beautiful.

I have a L-007. I thought h got eaten and had not seen him for over 8 months. he was in my 250G tank and when I rescued a Alligator Gar I put it in there. I removed all the fish into my 150G and never saw him. when I moved from Alberta to BC I was cleaning out the tanks and there he was hiding in a little log. alive and kicking. awesome little guys. he is in a much safer home now. he would be a 1 gulp meal for the Gator gar and not likely a good thing to eat either
 
Ifs funny when fish disappear like that. I had 2 little juli cories that dispersed on me. One turned up 2 days later. And the other I found a week later stuck head down behind a plastic tube in the back corner. Still alive. Still got both of them. Been about a month.
 
You may have mentioned it but I just started reading this thread the other day, how much epoxy did it tale to seal your tank? Im looking at modeling your dimensions but making the appearence of an in wall tank in a utility room for my finished basement. Thanx

I am not using epoxy and I have not sealed my tank yet.
 
Caught the post on your sump. Watching close here to see how it works on the tank. Being much larger wondering if it will hold up to the pressure???

Looks great so far.

I don't see how the pressure would affect this stuff. Also I'm only 30" deep so its only like 1-2 psi at the bottom or something.

The first coat soaks into the wood and makes a nice seal. All the others on top of that are just extra safety. I should get about 3 coats out of the gallon I have.


I'm gonna drain my sump here in a few minuets and check out all the seams. So stand by for photos.
