"Liquid rubber" is a brand distributed by permi-dry in the US.

Called Zavlar in Canada where its from.


I'm Using a Rubber based pool paint by Insul-X.

And the sump is draining. It'll be a few since it is on the floor. Not a lot of vertical fall.

That's true, Dunno just feeling that too good to be true feeling. Really hope this works for you, cause I will be going for it too if it does. I am chomping to start, but want to be sure to do my research. Dont want 300 gallons of water in my rented house.

Getting a sliding miter saw, and building a workbench this weekend, Picking up a shop smith monday from my father. Gonna start a stand for my 75s week after, and hope to start my tank in Feb.

Busy Busy Busy, but best part is most of the chores are done

This is just something I'm trying. If your worried about it you can go with the better know options of either liquid rubber or Pond coat. both of which are about 200 bucks a gallon shipped. Theres also bluemax and a bunch of other options.

Alright. I had just enough siliconized latex caulk left in that tube I had on hand to do my sump which is nice. I also picked up another tube to do the main tank if this works out.


Here is the sump with its new joints. Note this Latex caulk is white which is very common but since this is 35 year with silicone mixed in it dries clear. Which is an easy indicator of when it is dried and cured.

So in 2-4 days when the caulk has dried fully and is absolutely clear it will get its first coat of black rubberized paint. Followed by a 2nd coat 12-24 hours later as recommended by the manufacturer.

The DAP is getting covered.

I've never heard of either of those brands.

Think I am gonna have to follow your lead and build a little sump like that and replicate your experiment. Everything on the website points to it is a choice. Kudo on your work.
