lol I think my girlfriend would murder me so don't take my advice. But she said the same in the beginning but now when I say you want to feed the fish she gets all excited and runs over to do it. Just need to get her to help clean the thing one of these days...

But get an oscar! I would like one someday

lol beats me I just think they are cool fish. Come on over to jersey with some!
Wow you are lucky..... I think. Id not over due that with cleaning the tank tread carefully.
He is supportive of my hobby and enjoys the tanks a lot, and likes that they make me happy.

He is supportive of me getting a larger tank when we move, and as long as we have the space and I can get a good deal he'll be OK with it. (Even though he's thinking like 90 gallon and I'm thinking double that LOL)

I'm lucky for the most part in that aspect.
Figures. lol
I think guys are a little "different" then women. My wife likes it thinks its nice looking and is interested in the fish and how the act. She love animals of all kinds. But since its my hobby she uses it against me all the time.

I'll say having kids helps with the wife tolerating the fish. My son is 3 and loves them. He loves the meeki especially.

If my pasionis ever spawn, I would be glad to give you some fry since you aren't far.
About a year ago another member on here gave me some thorichthys then called "mixteco blue" now described as panchovillai. I drove to the Baltimore area which the fish did very well on the trip and are doing great now. I have exactly 3 male and 3 female pasionis that seem to be pairing, but no signs of spawning. They may be too small and range from 2"-4". Slow growing like most thorichthys.

The plan from the beginning was to have the synspilum, 10 meeki, and 10 pasionis. But thats awesome. If I dont have then by then I will take you up on that offer! Thanks!

And you got the mixteco blue? those are pretty nice

It will probably be a long time. I'm not sure what size they breed at, but assuming over 3". All info I have read says the breed based on how old like over a year. We'll see. I am also wondering if the larger meeki are preventing anything from breeding. They dominate the tank and by far the most aggressive fish. Even the smallest chases a h. Deppii that is twice its size. I am thinking of separating the meeki.
Yes, these are the "mixteco blue". I have 2 males and one female. No signs of pairing, but they are still in the 2-3" size range. If they breed (supposed to be very prolific), I would give you some of those too.
