~335 gallon plywood build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
man these threads makes me realize how ridiculousness i over built my stand for my 100g. made of 6 4x4 8feet long cut up. and skinned with half inch plywoods plus heavy duty brackets costing me over 400 to build the stand. i even stained and and cover it with 2 layer of polyurethane for water resistant.

Great design, I am looking forward to seeing the progress, I too am planning a build but am waiting for the new year so any info you can give to save me a buck or two is appreciated :D

Update!

So I started the frame today, I didn't get a whole lot done because it's 29 degrees out and snowing. :irked: Oh, and to make it even better, my kerosene heater that I use to heat the garage wouldn't light. :( Anyway before I got to frozen I managed to get all of the wood cut and the top and bottom of the stand done.

On to the pics:

Like I said, I didn't get a whole lot done, but it's something.

That is more progress than I am getting done.

Looks good,

Bear

Hey. That looks familiar.

Good start.

Man I wish it was 29 here. I'm totally confined to indoors for working on stuff now. I gave up somewhere around 10 degrees.

I like your second stand iteration better. Lots of people go waayyy overboard on the stands. Go have a look at a pet shop 240gl wooden stand. They usually don't even have framing in them.

10 degrees... :nilly: It actually has warmed up today, It's ~45 out right now and supposed to stay in the mid 40's all week.

No progress last night, had a meeting that went late, and I have another meeting tonight. However Wednesday-Friday I should be able to get a bit done. I also have from dec. 23rd through Jan. 4th off from work for the holidays, so I will be working on it a lot during that time.
