375 gallon glass tank build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Thanks again everyone.

Maddmaxx- I could fill the tank now, but probably won't fill it until I get it moved into the house. It isn't level where it sits right now in my garage, and I think the effort to level it before filling (the tank is heavy) would be a little more work than I want to put in for a test fill in the garage. I know that is putting a lot of faith in the tank holding water, if the first time I fill it is when it is in the house.

Pazzoman- It will be going in the living room of my house.

More pictures please when you can .

Deffently when it fully setup . :)

This tank is beautiful! The wood work is absolutly stunning. Looking forward to seeing this full...

awesome tank i was at the lfs looking at the difference between a 240 gal and a 200 gal you have inspired me to set my sights a bit higher , keep us posted on the build i am an aircraft engineer and i deal with material stresses and have a good idea of how stress flows through materials(not normally glass ) i would have to say i was pleased to see you oversized that hole to 4 inch as i would not recomend any inperfections an a piece of glass doing that type of job.

Amazing... what are you thinking of putting in there??

Geoey- I'm glad I drilled the larger hole as well. Good to hear that you think I did the right thing, based on your training.

Cappuccino- The tank will have malawi haps and peacocks and some large clown loaches once completed.

I kind of took the weekend off this week, after putting in about 20 hours last weekend on the stand. So, no updates right now. In addition to staining the stand, I have a few other things that need to be done before the tank is up and running. I plan to build a sump out of a 75 gallon tank, and I need to reinforce the floor in my living room to support the tank. The place where the tank will sit is on a crawl space, and the floor joists will run parallel to the tank. I think I have a pretty good idea of how I am going to reinforce the floor, and will try to drag my camera down to the crawl space to get a few pictures when I do this.
